![]() So, I think it is finally time to get and LS swap under my belt. Looking fro a complete pullout as I need all of the front accessories, complete intake, harness, etc.
It will be going on my '83 GMC K10, and I already have a late model 4WD 4L60(5?)E trans laying around so I don't really need a trans. So where do you guys suggest getting a complete pullout engine? Ebay usually has a lot of them listed, but I would rather pick one up somewhat locally if possible as having an engine shipped to a residence seems like it is going to be a PITA. Looking for an LM7, LQ4,or some other non-DOD 5.3 or 6.0 variant. The truck has a decent 400 SBC in it right now, but after contemplating the cost of upgrading heads and adding EIF, it would be so much cheaper in the long run to just swap to a less arcane architecture. ![]()

![]() I need the exact same thing and have been looking on eBay as well. If you know anyone that has a business with a dock that's would be the best way to get them shipped into town. Or picking it up from a depot. But yeah, I need to call around as see what the local yards want for one.
LY9 should also have no DOD/AFM 6.0 iron block. Post up what you find out and if/when you get one please. I'm probably a month out from buying one. |

Having one shipped to work would seem like the obvious solution, but they are a bunch of damn Nazi's, so that's not an option. It appears that all 6 liter variants are still going for about 2K which honestly isn't bad, but I am not looking to spend that much for what this truck will be used for. I love the thought of the E-ROD LS3, but that'a about 5 times what the truck is worth, and then there is the whole GVW restriction for true emissions compliance. ![]()

I'd watch CL for part outs honestly Edit : watch ls1tech and performance trucks. You can occasionally snag 6.0's or 6.2's for 2500 shipped

![]() There are also a lot of LS parts for sale pages on Facebook, I have seen some good deals on there. But complete pullouts, not so much.
And I'm not buying a 250K+ engine. That's just to many miles. |

![]() 100-150K miles I wouldn't mess with it. The ones on eBay even have running videos before they were pulled on some. Then also can have a 3-6month warranty. That's not a bad deal for around 2K. For a engine I hope to just use as mock up and then sell in 6months or year.
Now getting a 300K mile local pull for 1500, with no warranty... Doesn't sound like that good of deal. I would also want to do bearings and oil pump, at minimum. If not rings, lifters and springs as well. I plan on building a 6.2 aluminum block so why do it all twice. |

If you wouldn't mind, see if they have any L92/L94/L9H 6.2 escalade/denali engines. Under 200K miles, under 150K even better. Found one out in KS for $3500, complete pull out. The places I have checked online seem to be around $3000-3400 also. Thanks |

![]() Everything I have found has been more than that. The guy that wants $3500 is trying to sell the 6.2/6l80 for $4200. I would pay $2500-2800 for a complete 6.2 pull out engine. But any more than that and it starts pushing into the may as well build my own stroker. I'm not in a huge hurry but if I can find a good/great deal I want to get it.

![]() I sell complete 4.8/5.3/6.0 pullouts, only sell engines I hear run and don't have issues. Miles and price vary, but they come complete with harness(not cut), ecu, accessories, starter, intake and throttle body, coils, exhaust manifolds, etc. Best to just send me a PM as my inventory moves quickly.
