Default New Toy - Chevy C10

My wife and I have been looking for a Chevy pickup for a couple of years now. We finally decided to pull the trigger. A friend of mine in DFW had a buddy selling one so I flew down to take a look this past weekend. I ended up buying. Should be back here in the next couple of weeks depending on shipping.

1972 C10, 350/T400, 4.11 gear. Basically stock. Needs a bit of tweaking, wheels, tilt column with shifter, OE wood wheel and lower the back down a bit. We were just looking for a cruiser for car shows and what not. It's a blast with this rear end. Definitely not a highway cruiser. I may look into a 700R4 or a gearvendors OD in the future.

It, unfortunately, has a spray in bed liner. Not my first choice, but it was done well. I am going to use this as a truck from time to time so it's good in that regard.

Love it.

Set of wheels, slight drop, OD trans and rock it.

Thanks everyone!

Transport has been set up. Ended up booking with Reliable Carriers in a fully enclosed trailer. Was only $50 more. With it being hail season in North Texas, I figured it was worth a few extra bucks to ship it enclosed. They thought they would be able to pick it up in the next day or so. We shall see.

love that year of truck,,I have a 72, that I am "trying" to restore.. takes time and $$$.. I am pretty sure that is not the original gear ratio for that year.. but of course I could be wrong..

It's not. Someone has put a new rear end on it at some point. It also looks like it has some sort of a 4-link in it as some point. There are a few mystery brackets.

It is still sitting in my buddy's garage. All of the trucks are tied up in Indiana at the Mecum auction this week.

I'd put some truck rallyes on it and meaty tires, personally.

Looks to be a very clean example.
