![]() Potentially looking to move back to KC, my lease ends in December so something around that time would be wonderful. Will be promoted July 1, 2016 to Senior Tax Associate in our group. I realize I will likely take a salary hit moving back, but the cost of living will offset that.
As for what I'm looking for - ideally I'd like to keep in the partnership field, but am open to other opportunities. I would be ok with a new area of tax/accounting, my main goal is to move back to KC. About me - CPA 2.5 years public accounting experience - all of it related to publicly traded partnerships, or master limited partnerships (MLP's). Duties and responsibilities include: - Federal 1065 K-1 creation - I'm involved in the full process. It starts with the trial balance we receive from the company in order to calculate taxable, all the way until we mail the K-1's to their respective owners. - Federal 1065 tax returns - I run the entire engagement on one of my assignments, fulfilling the roles of associate to manager. - 150 state returns for various MLP's. A lot of these states are "resident filer" states. - Midstream and upstream oil and gas experience. - Training/coaching/advising first and second year associates on projects - Assist with tax/704b projections, IPO offerings, and any other project that is needed. Feel free to PM me if you know of anything or have more questions. Thanks for looking. Last edited by Diamond Star; 2016-07-27 at 03:55 PM.. |

![]() You work for a large company that also has an office in KC. Do they not do transfers?

![]() Chris - Not sure I'm following the Charmin reference
JW- Thanks, I'll keep that in mind, but I don't think I will have a difficult time finding something in my field. It's important I keep my CPA license active and career moving forward. Buddy - Well, if I was in a bad situation, no job is beneath me. But at this point, that job is a bit different than what I do (NO AP experience) and the pay is likely not even in the same ball park. That job description seems like it would be for someone just starting out, IMO. Plus I would like full-time, benefits, and all that jazz. Thanks for considering though. |

![]() Update
I've opened up my search to include smaller CPA firms, as long as I don't have the traditional public accounting hours. One job I'm interested in at the moment they worked an average of 45 hours over tax season, I'd love to get into something like that but it's not a deal breaker. I'll also have to venture outside the partnership world, which I expected, but also need to find a position that pays well, has room to grow, and has a manager/director who I can bounce questions off of and learn from. My salary was better than expected when my promotion hit. I do know I won't get that in KC with ~ 3 years experience, but I'm trying to keep it within roughly 10% if I can. Thanks to all that have looked, forwarded me a job, or given me a contact. I'm wanting to move back before next tax season if possible! My lease ends here Dec 3 and I don't want to be forced into a new one. Last edited by Diamond Star; 2016-07-27 at 03:56 PM.. |
