Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Owner - KCSR

I was referred to this site by some friends in the Liberty area. I personally live in Topeka, KS. I've driven my 99 GTP since 2005ish. Bought her with 79k on the clock. She's currently pushing 185k.

It's got some mods but it needs a driver mod more than anything. I'm still in 14 second hell! 14.123 @ 98 to be exact. I'd like to get down to low 13's or high 12's eventually.

Current motor mods are 1.9 Rockers, ls6 springs, ported M90 supercharger, ported throttle body, SSAC headers, Intense Modular Pulley sys. 3.4" installed, Devils Own Methanol Injection, HP Tuners tuned by me. The things developed some knock retard over the winter that I and others just can't figure out at partial boost or wide open throttle. Other than that it runs good at normal speeds and driving habits. So I bought a block yesterday incase it goes south anytime soon.

Soooo.... I just scored a new block for cheap with some performance things added to it. L67 block with l32 rods, ARP head studs, deleted balance shaft, opened up oil ports, new knock sensors. Got it all for 100 bux.

The bad part is one of the pistons burned the rings. There is slight mark on cyl 3. It's either going to need honed or bored.

With that being said whats some good machine shops in the KS area preferably Topeka or surround.

She's lowered on Springtech's since I took that picture 3 years ago.

Here's one of her lowered.

She needs some TLC but i'll get there eventually with her. I don't plan on getting rid of her anytime soon.

Welcome.
I used to own 2 Grand Am's so I know the Pontiac family.
There is a Grand Prix club in KC called KCPMC. I used to be on there, some pretty cool people are on there that know the GP's well.

down 21st right past gage i dont remember the exact day and time man lol i just remember i heard the supercharger whine and i gave you a thumbs up.

LOL. I was probably over by Hogan's Muffler. I don't get on it very often in town. But sometimes I get a wild hair.

I went to HPT the last Friday that was rained out, but don't think I'll be able to make this Friday for my free make-up.

Probably a couple weeks from now I'm thinking I'll go back up.

there's a shop down on north kansas, just north of "rooster tail" if it's even still there, that my dad has taken several blocks to. They do awesome work and are pretty reasonable. Just can't remember the name right now.

Welcome. I was around KCPMC when it was started and was there for a few years. Still check it occasionally, some really solid guys over there. Made a lot of friends from there (Kyle and TimWs6 are on here).

I still absolutely love that body style. I would buy another GP any day of the week.
