Default Easy way to dial in Exp and Ap?

Hey guys I have a question. When I'm taking photos I feel like I'm spending wayy too much time dialing in the exposure times and the aperture but once I find a good reference setting I'm good to go. This being said does anyone have any tips for speeding up my setup process?

Good guesstimating?

Or get a light meter, which is designed to do exactly what you're asking.

Yes, guesstimating is really the best way unless you have a light meter in your viewfinder.

To start, you want to set your aperture depending on what you want in focus and/or light conditions. There are a ton of factors that go into your exposure. Best way to get better at it is rack up your shutter count on M.

I always try to use a low aperture setting. I'm still new to adjusting the aperture and getting it to do what i want.
