That’s a sweet rig. What’s the cost to put that together?

Not including the the frame, monitor stand, wheel, pedals, and monitors about $5k. The brake is hydraulic, and the wheel base is a small mige direct drive that is not the same as a logitech or thrusmaster belt driven wheel.

My setup includes:
Wheel Base: Small Mige servo Direct Drive from Sim Racing Bay
Steering wheel:Fanatec Universal hub with OMP 300mm and magnetic paddle shifters

Pedals: HPP 3-PRX-SE hydraulic pedals
Other: Fanatec handbrake and 7 speed h-pattern
Frame: Sim-Lab P1
Monitors: Acer Predator Z321QU x3 on a Sim-Lab triple monitor stand
VR: Oculus Rift
Tactile Feedback: 1xiNuke 3000DSP powering Buttkicker Concert (under the seat) 1x EPQ-304 powering 4x aura bass shakers(one at each corner all on separate channels to provide feedback to that specific wheel/suspension)
Audio: Old home theater 4.0 setup using a Denon avr-s510
PC: 8086k/2080TI/16GB@3600Mhz

I'm going to throw a (probably) unpopular opinion out here.

I understand the desire to enjoy a good racing game as much as the next guy, but for the cost to put one of these systems together, why not just buy a cheap Mustang or Camaro and go run it on some real tracks?

crashes hurt (you and the wallet) a bit more under that route...
plus its not like you're going to be able to go to the fun places/tracks, that you'd be able to "go" to with that setup. its the same reason that professional drivers are now using pro versions of these despite the fact that they literally can go out and race the incredible cars on the tracks most of us will only ever be able to visit, if that.

imo, its a very cool toy that creates an immersive experience that will likely be supplemented with VR soon enough that allows someone to find the edge and likely improve their real world driving without the expense of real world mistakes.

Not too many tracks around here, and I can't afford the majority of cars I race on iRacing. I've enjoyed racing games since Gran Turismo 1 on the PlayStation. This is just taking it a step further. I'd welcome anyone that wants to come give it a try.

I do primarily use an Oculus Rift for online racing, VR racing is fantastic, and next gen VR hmds are going to further the immersion. The monitors are there for a break from VR and games like dirt rally 2.0 that do not support VR yet.

That's pretty sweet! I've always wondered what one of those Fanatec wheels feels like. I've thought about building a sim setup for quite a while, just cant justify the cost.

The steering wheel itself is an adapted fanatec universal hub, and it's connected to a direct drive mige servo, which is typically used to turn conveyer belts or run a cnc machine. I'm happy to let others give it a try, that's exactly how I've gotten a few friends to join the hobby. Shoot me a pm if you're interested in trying it some weekend.

Thanks! I got lucky and found an arcade in California that was shutting down and selling three of these dbox 4250i motion kits. New the 4250i runs about 13k used, and I couldn't stomach that. I paid less than half of the new cost for this lightly used kit. I just bolted the u brackets to my aluminum profile, and jumped in. I've yet to try it with a flight game, but overall I'm very pleased with it. Offers still open to give it a try if anyone is interested.

I got dcs installed this morning, but haven't got the chance to test it yet. I really want to try the Huey, f-18, and a-10.

I have a bunch of spare aluminum profile I just need to cut to length, and I'll have some removable hotas mounts. At the moment, I have a tm1600 hotas with pedals.

You still play? I resubbed iRacing but have been on there a few years, although my rig is way more simple than yours just being an rSeat RS1 and the TR500 Thrustmaster wheel/pedal set with the TH8A shifter :P

What kind of iRating you roll and what are your favorite car/track combos?
