Default Thoughts on Cricket Wireless?

I'm looking for an unlimited plan that, all in for two lines, is under 140 bucks.

Verizon = More expensive - Great signal/coverage but CDMA compability rules out my preferred choices on phones

T-Mobile = Borderline on price, coverage is not great.

Sprint = Never. Reasons.

At&t = in my experience great service but too pricey

Google Fi = What I have now...had to get rid of pixel because I couldn't stand that Fi kept putting me on sprint's network. It's literally the worst of the worst and I despise it so I'm for all intents and purposes on T-mobile now as my phones take the sim which pushes me to t-mobile. Service was in and out all over on a recent road trip. In KC it does just fine but it's just sketchy on the road.

Cricket using At&t seems to check off a lot of boxes. Phone compatibility, unlimited, price, coverage. Not sure about speeds though and overall experience. Anyone able to share?

We had Cricket for the family back when the girls were in HS (‘10-‘11). Great experience back then, but technology has come a long way since then so I can’t really attest to how they are now.

But based on my previous experience I wouldn’t hesitate to try them again.

I was good with Cricket, but switched to Fi for the international travel. Its throttled AT&T at 8Mb/s so youre not watching a lot of 4k video on the phone but it was reliable and the coverage was good.

Why ruling out Verizon? They have a few MNVOs on their plan and are pushing Visible pretty hard, which right now looks like a decent deal. Most phones are international now anyway so they run GSM and CDMA and most of the LTE bands.

You know...I took your comment to check out Visible and their plan seems pretty sweet with 40/line and 200 off promo right now on a phone (pixel 3a for the wife would be good) but they don't look to include family plans which is what I pick because my company will pay for my phone plan up to 140/month, even with the wife's line included, so I take advantage of that. With Visible, I'd lose that so that's a no-go.

Well there might be something on another Verizon MNVO or one of their pre-paid options. Im personally not a fan but definitely dont think, unless you are buying a grey market phone from Korea or something, that carrier compatibility is actually a thing anymore. Almost all of the same phones, when bought unlocked, are basically universal anymore. (hence why Fi phones can jump services including Sprint).

I have Oneplus phones and while I believe they have certification for Verizon now, they aren't CDMA certs so I don't know what service is like without the CDMA bands.
