2008 Honda Civic ex sedan rear shock replacement - KCSR

Okay, as the title says I replaced the rear shocks on my sisters 2008 Honda Civic ex sedan yesterday. The old ones were clunking and making noise everything she hit a bump. I replaced them with Monroe shocks that said they are the recommended or type replacements.

My issue is they are replaced and don't clunk but now they rattle or make some sounds when she hits bumps at low speeds. I saw a guy make a YouTube video saying the bolts that are factory don't fit and rattle around.

Any Honda experts know any issues or solutions?

Check your sway bar links.

Will it be obvious on them or does a shop need to diagnose them as bad?

They are cheap enough I'd just replace them anyway. We usually replace them when we do struts and shocks, I just build it into the price.

Usually when the struts/shocks go bad the links get a lot more abuse and go bad quickly, especially the ones that are attached to the struts.

any DIY on it? i am visiting her in California and she has limited tools etc and I would be doing it in her apartment parking lot.
