I think the reason Dave B is all about BMW and Porsche is because they offer the best of both worlds and I get it, I got to fiddle with my mother's M6 a bit and it drives, well, glides is more like it and is very comfortable, but when you have the presets for the m2 button all maxed it transforms. The difference in ride quality is way more noticeable than when I use the edfc controller in my car. M cars just have that ability to pull off that Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde the best of them all IMO.

This camaro is not made for luxury, neither is a corvette. High HP cars like this are toys, not daily people carriers.

After dailying in my sti for a while now, it's getting old, he'll I'm getting old, might be in the market for a nice cushy seat and a right pedal with a decent number under it soon.

You don't have to sit in a ZL1 to know that's still a factory modified $26K Camaro thus it will have $26K car finishes and overall refinement. And yes, a $67K M4 is a factory modified 430i which bases at $42K and it works the same way.

If you don't care about this then good for you because the world would be one boring place if we all liked the same stuff.

the Mustang GT350 interior, though looking similar, is pretty substantially better and higher in material quality than the base model mustang, FWIW. I would expect the Camaro to step up the interior materials game, at least, in the ZL1.

Man I just don't get you.

Dave plainly stated that's not the case, even though he hasn't sat in the car.

Reading is fundamental.

What's inherently different about the ZL1s interior compared to the standard interior beyond the seats, steering wheel material, door card material, and the shift knob? Please do tell.

You guys are acting like GM is using better plastics and different interior panels. There are pictures of the ZL1 interior out there ya know and it's not much different from the 1LE setup which I have been in and rode in.

The fact some of you bow tie fan boys are trying to put a biffed camaro's interior and build quality to comparison with a BMW is amusing to say the least.
When it comes to engineering, design and manufacturing , sorry fellas but zee Germans have the US beat, not with just cars, but mostly everything.

Deport me

Lol.

The 6th gen interior is pretty fucking great.

As far as engineering, I'd take this camaro over anything out of Germany, save the 911tt/gt3/etc on a track or straight line.

Man, there's so much arguing going on in here. It's almost like tastes in cars is *gasp* subjective.

Not kind of like though. It is a direct copy of a German chassis/suspension. It's basically daveb's 2 series with a better interior.

It's certainly faster, and what i would spend my money on if those were the only two options (70k I'm buying a grand sport). It begs the question though, could gm have gotten there on their own?

I like the Camaro interior over the Mustang interior, but I don't like either of them that much.

That said, when I drove a new SS I wasn't thinking about the interior. I was laughing my ass off at how much fun the car was.

For the extra $12K and barring the performance differences, the difference in quality should be expected and is there. I rent tons of cars for work including the basic stuff like loaded leather equipped Altimas and Impalas to current gen Stangs and Camaro and even stuff like Caddy ATS'. In terms of interior quality, I'd say the M235 is right around where the ATS is. The new gen Camaro is a HUGE leap from the last gen car, but it's a bit cheap in comparison most entry level luxury makes and that shouldn't be any surprise. Lastly, I fully admit that non-luxury makes have been catching up rapidly and luxury makes, especially BMW, have been dropping the ball and are caught up in their own arrogance of the "Ultimate Driving Machine" which only a specific model or two now fit that bill.
You're like a walking BMW sales brochure.

Do they at least compensate you?

My Camaro doesn't even have an interior for you to hate on.

Take that, DaveB.

Looking back is a guaranteed way to lose time, so I'd say this is a good design by GM to make you go faster.
