Default Bought my dad this 97 FXD

Buddy of a buddy told me about this bike, 97 FXD with 12000K on it. It was traded in at an Indian dealer and they had no idea what to do with it. Long story short looks like it sat outside for god knows how many years and just needed some TLC so I jumped on it. Paid 2500 for it, yanked the windsheild off and put some new bars on it. Needs and seat and a battery box cover (anyone have one) I think this winter the old man is gonna paint it and try to get it to outrun my FXR (GOOD LUCK!) LOL

12,000,000 miles?!??!?!? HD may want to buy it back

Actually, looks like you got a helluva deal. I would check out CL or Ebay. I ended up finding a NOS low profile HD seat on Ebay being sold by an antique dealer and picked it up for $150. If you like the basics of the current seat, you could sen it off and have it redone as well.

Does it run pretty well? If so, it looks to be worth it.

Opps 12000 miles lol. It needs some carb work, I'm sure the float and jets are nasty. It also has s SE intake so it needs to be jetted anyways. The Dyna is a turd compared to my much lighter FXR.
