Default 1.3 Million Bicycles Recalled - Front Wheel Quick Release

Did you guys see this?

http://www.kshb.com/money/consumer/1...llion-bicycles

Quote:
About 1.3 million bicycles from 13 separate manufacturers have been recalled.

The problem with the bikes is an open quick release lever on the bicycle's front wheel that comes into contact the with front disc brake rotor.

This could cause the front wheel to come to a sudden stop.
I see two issues here. 1) Who rides with a quick release OPEN and doesn't expect the front wheel to fly off at some point? 2) Who puts the quick release lever on the side with the brake rotor? Not only could you run the risk of the lever hitting the rotor, but you could burn your fingers trying to take the wheel off after just having ridden hard.

Oh well. I guess the bikes were not as idiot proof for the general public as they should have been.
