Default 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk:

http://www.kcsr.org/showthread.php?t...ight=Trackhawk

HELLCAT,HELLCAT,HELLCAT

As much as 707 horsepower in a Grand Cherokee? Hell yes!

What It Is

Meant to be to street performance what Trailhawk is to rock-bashing off-road ability. There will be an optional Hellcat engine, and well, info on that part ought to be clear by now.
Why It Matters

Dodge now claims exclusive rights to the SRT badge, but the Jeep Grand Cherokee is currently the bestselling vehicle to wear it. FCA isn’t about to shut down its hot-rod-Jeep money mint, so the hi-po Grand Cherokee will now be known as the Trackhawk.
Platform

The Grand Cherokee shares its skeletal makeup with the Mercedes-Benz M-class, making it one of the few good things to come out of the disastrous DaimlerChrysler tie-up.

Powertrain

It should seem obvious that the supercharged Hellcat V-8 would eventually find its way into a few more engine bays. Paired with four-wheel drive, the 6.2-liter’s 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque could help the Grand Cherokee breach 60 mph in less than four seconds. Base 475-hp Trackhawk models will come with the naturally aspirated 6.4-liter V-8 that is used in today’s Grand Cherokee SRT.
Competition

BMW X5 M; Land Rover’s new highest-performance model, the Range Rover Sport SVR; Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG; Porsche Cayenne Turbo S.
What Might Go Wrong

We hear that Jeep is struggling to blast-proof the Grand Cherokee’s driveline against Hellcat torque bombs. There are two obvious work-arounds: Engineers could electronically limit torque in lower gears or, less likely, just skip four-wheel drive.
Estimated Arrival and Price

Look for the first $65,000 Grand Cherokee Trackhawks at Costcos, gas stations, drag strips, and meetings of the South Jersey mafia starting in mid-2016.

That's pretty badass looking. Dodge seems to have their game on at the moment.

wonder how much trouble they are having making the drivetrain stand up to all that power and use vs how a challanger hellcat is used (towing, off road, etc).

it looks freaking sweet!

So this is different from the srt8 grand cherokee?

Pretty cool, and probably weighs no more than the other Hellcats.

I know first Gen SRT8's had a lower tow capacity than my 04 w/ the I6... it was something like 3500lbs.

no clue where second gen's sit but I wouldn't count on much in that dept if the second gen is similar to the first.

Dodge list the 2015 srt8 at 7200lbs towing capacity. The older pre 14s had the 5 speed trans, so not sure if that effected anything.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Hellcat rumored to run from 0-60 mph in under 3 seconds

2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is inching closer to reality as new details are starting to emerge about the Hellcat-powered model.
According to a source who spoke to Motor Authority, the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is internally known as Project K and it has already been green-lighted for production. The source went on to say the company is already testing prototypes and they feature the same supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 engine as the Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcat.
The insider said the engine's output will remain at approximately 707 bhp (527 kW) and all-wheel drive wheel will continue to be standard. However, it remains unclear if the torque will be limited as previous reports suggested the all-wheel drive system had problems coping with the Hellcat's 650 lb-ft (880 Nm) of torque.
Regardless of the final numbers, the source said the model will be insanely quick as it will accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than three seconds and have a top speed of approximately 200 mph (321.8 km/h). To put those numbers into perspective, the range-topping Porsche Cayenne Turbo S runs from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds and tops out at 176 mph (283.2 km/h).
If everything pans out, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk should arrive as a 2017 model.

Agree, the shifts sound slow. Some people just aren't car people, but still want performance. It's the same thing as four door performance cars. Convenience with power. I'm sure someone out there would want to buy a performance suv from Porsche

I think I'm going to make the regular SRT my next vehicle. It kinda suits all my needs. I'm hoping the prices on the regular ones comes down below 40 next year for a 2014.

What the hell trans is that? It sounds terrible.

Why wouldn't they use the damn 8AT? Would be perfect and is proven to easily hold 600lb ft.
