You could always sell them....Then throw 5k into an IRA and lower your tax bill to offset the cap gains.

gonna pay those capital gains either this year or next.

Might as well realize the profit while it is there!

This. I also have an HSA with my health plan that I occasionally drop some extra cash into if I want to reduce my tax burden.

Better to sell with a profit and pay the tax than sell with less profit just to pay less tax. There are lots of methods to reduce your tax burden.

Yeah, was up, then down, then up again. Pretty bullish given today's market. I'm very optimistic here. Still no PR as expected...should see some more gains if that comes out soon with good news.

I almost threw $2k at it when it dipped to $3.03.

Wish I would have.

I wouldn't hesitate at the AH pricing. Look at the history...it's in a huge rut that's less than a year old. This isn't a short sale, it's a holder, IMO. 500% profit potential here if it gets back to pre correction prices.

*edit: 1.5 years old nose dived in 2014.

It's a low volume, low exposure biotech and it's too slow of a mover to be a pump and dump. I'm trusting nearly 10k with em.

Might wait till open tomorrow though. Last several days it's been a quick gain followed by a 5% or so drop before picking back up again near close. Might be able to snag a better price tomorrow as no PR has been released yet. Probably won't gain significant traction until then.

Damn 10k Nice! i got 2k invested in them. Could have gotten in at a better price from all the ups and downs but thats how the game goes.

I've been scared to look at my portfolio the last few days. Luckily for me, all of my investments need to stay put for a minimum of 10 years.

ATNM isn't looking so hot right now.

Shorts are having their way with it...but it's a long stock, IMO. Takes about 2 years to get through a phase III trial so there are going to be ebbs and flows until then.

Netflix announced that it's in nearly every country and stock prices are rebounding nicely. If they can get a foothold in China (they're currently not there) that opens up a gigantic market for them.

Chiptole is going to continue to drop. They will face criminal investigations for the outbreak.

I want to read a good story about a successful long term day trader.
Iv'e never seen a good story about a long term successful day trader/technical analysis user that consistently beat the market index.

I would love to find some reliable info on some of those folks. So many people dream of their next 10 bagger but if they compared their results long term they might not be as happy.

For the very large majority, day trading is a complete and total waste of time and money unless you're doing it solely for the hell of it with "play" money. Thanks largely in part to instant media, the market has become very reactive over the past 10 to 15 years. You're MUCH better off buying into solid stocks and low fee funds that track the market.

We're all young. You should be in this for the long haul and not some get rich quick scheme. For 90%+ of you, day trading and buying penny stocks, hoping to find the next Apple/Goggle etc. it ain't gonna work. The odds are way against you.
