The new Viper is rumored to cost close to $100k. And as we know the closer the older models price is to the newer model the more the older models price will fall. And 2008 Coupes are going for around $60k and verts are going for around $55k far from the new models estimated price. That makes me think the prices for 08s won't fall too much.

Although I think 08 ACRs will drop the most in price as they are around 75k right now. Much closer to the new Viper's rumored price.

As a die-hard for Ford fan, WTF were they thinking when SVT went to shit? Same thing man. At least BMW has their M division, which I am a huge fan of and have owned a few M's.

I've seen some 08+ ACRs in the low 70s. People don't put that many miles on them.

That is true there is even a local ACR for sale for $68k. It had some slight curb damage to the front splitter but still a great car for $68k.

But most ACRs are going for closer to the mid 70s than the low 70s.

Sales predictions are just like me saying I'm going to win the lottery. Just because they THINK it's going to happen, doesn't mean it's going to.

Dodge is the retarded step child of the big 3, and everybody can see that.

I'm not sticking up for the brand but I do have a lot of faith in Sergio Marchionne.

I'd just love to see more SVT products. They gave us a variation to choose from in the late 90's and now they can't comptete with all the other offerings out there. How about a legit SVT Focus this time around? I know they are talking about an ST version, but I want SVT version back in the game. That includes the Raptor, Mustang, and how about another SVT model somewhere along the way?

I see what you are saying, I think that NOW would be a great time for SVT to come back to FORD in full force (they have the money)

The "ST" badges are due to the "One-Ford" plan and plus the groups head is in the US now.

Worked out well, didn't it? Could overtake Toyota for the #3 spot.

What have you read that makes you think Chrysler is a dying company?

Chrysler had a sales increase of 26 percent in 2011, the largest percentage sales gain of any full-line manufacturer. Not bad.........

They (being FIAT) did pay it back and paid it back early and actually They (FIAT) owns the majority of the co. now not the government.

Well since Chrysler was owned by another company that was forced to sell a bad investment and FIAT won the bid someone had to pay the loans back.

Is Chrysler getting better? I sure as fuck hope so, however I doubt it.

As a mechanic I find Chrysler to be the most shitty of the big american 3 for reliability, repair costs, poor engineering and pissing me off.

Gimme a GM or ford any day over that shit, fuck rather work on a audi or BMW.

As for the viper.... Awesome, I hope fiat puts some effort into this and gets things moving. I see nothing bad with badging it a SRT, I wouldn't be suprised if they don't rebadge / boost other cars and throw them under that name also. Seems smart to me.

I am far from a Chrysler fanboi and know they have made some big mistakes. But they have also made some amazing cars and are selling them very well. Financially by just about all accounts there doing very well.

Spied: 2013 SRT Viper reveals its “eyes”

Gallery (7 images) Next

Basic Specs

Base FromTBA Unveiling 2012 New York auto show Availability Late 2012 Status Final stages of development Engine Unknown Body Style Coupe Convertible Segment Luxury Exotic Sport Size Large
Highlights

Chrysler ’s all-new 2013 SRT Viper will make its official debut at the New York auto show in just a few weeks but, before that big unveiling, our spy photographers have spotted the snake wear a little less protective skin.

Although the mule spotted today clearly retains the last-generation Viper’s rear end, the front end has been replaced with the design destined for the 2013 car. Engineers have removed the camo previously covering the Vipers headlights, giving us our first look into the snake’s eyes.
The spy shots also seem to confirm previous reports of a high-sculpted hood. Two air vents similar to those used on the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 appear on either side of the hood, with a center intake also present.
Those vents will be needed as the SRT Viper is expected to arrive with an 8.7L V10 making in excess of 600 horsepower.
As previously reported, Chrysler is re-opening its Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit to build the Viper. The automaker has offered jobs to all 150 workers it once employed at the facility, which it uses exclusively to hand-build Vipers.
“The next generation Viper will make its return to the product lineup in late 2012 as a 2013 model,” said SRT Brand & Motorsports President/CEO Ralph Gilles in a statement released to the media. “We’re extremely excited that our ultimate American sports car will continue to live on and be produced exclusively here in the Motor City.”
Look for the 2013 SRT Viper to make its official debut at the NY show in early April

Looks like it's going to be a late night:

Join driveSRT on Facebook to see an exclusive hint at the 2013 SRT Viper's lines at 11:59:59 Eastern Time on Monday, January 30, 2012. This could be the only hint at the next-generation Viper you'll see until the car is unveiled to the world.

I wasn't expecting much from the teaser, but it looks pretty promising.
