It's certainly no full comeback, but up 11% today for ATNM is certainly a move in the right direction compared to the rest of the market.

Your portfolio is up 11%? I'm showing they only rose 3% from previous close.

It spiked for a bit but after hours is down unfortunately. Really only one other stock I hold actually finished in the green. Everything else is going down.

It's a fucking dive bomb. Longs are fine. I'm just not looking anymore and sitting on what I have. I can't imagine it not rebounding at some point.

If I try and exit and rejoin later, knowing my luck, I'll get fucked and it would rebound the one day I don't pay attention and skyrocket to the point where I'd be better off just stepping away.

It's down, hard. But I don't know where the bottom is. If I get out now, this may already be the bottom, in which case I'd shoot myself in the foot by doing so.

That being said, I am not a savvy investor. I don't know what I'm doing.

You said it before "Longs are fine"

Why worry about short term fluctuations?
Time in the market beats timing the market:

Between everything, on paper I'm probably down around 40k. I don't really care. As part owner of those companies I'm still entitled to a portion of the profits and that portion of the profits distributed gets bigger every year.
Just keep stacking cash and deploy it into value in times like this.

When stuff is down like it has been is when I scrounge to dump more money into it. Just my 2 cents.

I'm about to sign-up for Acorns. It rounds up my CC purchases (much like BoA's Keep the Change) and invests that money.

I spend about $80-100k a year in CC purchases with multiple swipes per day. I think this might be neat to try.

I think that was over-rated when BOA came out with it years ago. I talked to heavy spenders and they said it was between $150-300 a YEAR.

I like your Robin Hood App approach better.

I'm assuming 80-100 is personal spending. wouldn't it be just as easy to just set your brokerage to automatically withdraw 2k at the same time each month? It doesn't cost money to fund or withdraw from your stock account.

The media. The Chinese. OPEC. The price of oil. Rapid improvements in efficiency and alternate power sources (i.e. less need for oil). Complete market overreaction.

We're in a correction and it's been long overdue. 2016 will likely be quite rocky through the spring, possibly through the summer. I'm thinking the market will plunge into the 14,000s and hover in the 15,000s/16,000s for a while.

If OPEC dials back oil production and the US domestic producers pull back more, oil prices will come up and the market will come up a bit.

Over the long term, the Middle East is going to have to come to terms with the fact that they are not "The" major player in oil. They're going to have to change things and address especially their fundamentalist religion problem. It's holding the region back.

Iran is starting to open it's doors to the business world. This could be a huge thing because a majority of the Iranian population is highly educated and they largely embrace Western values and business. Iran could be huge to the market and the first whiff of truly positive change in the Middle East.

It pains me to think about just how much I've lost in the past two months, but I'm in this for the long haul. I've been through this sort of thing so many times since entering the market in the earlier 1990s. Right now, I'm strongly considering moving some things around and going pretty aggressive with certain investments in anticipation of the market upswing we'll likely see later in the year. My opinion (and many others) is that you invest in funds with little fees to no fees, funds that track the market, and buying historically solid performing stocks, preferably when everything is lower. You really can't loose if you're in it for the long haul. Lastly, timing the market and finding the next big stock is nearly impossible.

robin hood app would be cool, but they don't allow you to trade sub $1.00 stocks yet correct?

They don't charge fee's for trading, which can add up quickly for OTC stocks ( i.e. $7.95 charge plus a % commission on each).

Hard to speak with confidence given the recent burn, but ATNM is making a hell of a rebound right now.

Sold half of my NFLX nest. Thinking about investing a chunk of that into FitBit. It's half of it's IPO. Anyone know of any new products they are thinking of? I think that's why their shares are down, they aren't pushing new innovations.
