Default Can you run 36 miles

and swim another 4 miles, then run an obstacle course?

This 9 year old girl did.

I can't walk 36 miles.

Well, maybe in a weeks time.

I can probably run about 0.36 miles.

That's pretty badass though. Kudos to her.

I've actually been increasing my cardio to slim down for the summer and get my blood pressure lower. I've been running between 1.75-2 miles a day, 5 days a week for about the past 5 months. I've even had a few 5+ mile runs.

That said, I don't see myself ever even doing a half marathon, let alone 36 miles.

I ran a 15k and 25k in the same month when I was 18/19. Not fun, but did it. Never again. This was about 10 years ago though. I now run about 3 miles 2 or 3 times a week. That's about perfect for me. I'd probably be able to do a max of 10 miles, if I absolutely had to.

I once ran a 25 mile marathon.

Then I woke up from the dream...even though it was just a dream, I was tired as fuck. I went back to sleep to rest it off...true story.

I did a 5 mile mud run/obstacle course last year. The second obstacle, about 1/4 mile in, was to wade through a fucking pond. The rest of the race, we all had soaked shoes. FUCK that shit.

I like 5k's. 3 miles is about right.. any more and it becomes a bit torturous for me.

I can't....

There was a kid from my hometown that now runs CC for KU that probably could have, even at 9 maybe. Probably not the obstacle course. And one of my good friends is an Ironman World Champion, so I'm sure she could do it. I love cheering her on, but going out and just running, not my thing....

About a year ago I'd be able to do 8-10 mile runs 3 times a week with 5k's for 2 more. Currently, it's probably a 5k 3 or 4 times a week, have't had enough time for cardio and the gym. 36 miles though? Fuck that, I wouldn't even want to do a full marathon.

IMO, the obstacle runs make distance running easier. it breaks it up a bit, allows you to use other muscles, etc.

Yes and no. Mentally I think it does a lot. Physically, covering distance wet, muddy, cold, etc. sucks. The mental aspect of it helps a lot.

Running butchers my knees and back. my goal for the Spring is to RIDE 100-150 miles in a day. I've done several hilly 50 mile rides in right at or under 4 hours with a long lazy stop in the middle because bananas are hard to eat while riding.
