Default Prophecy EV Concept

Let Luc Donckerwolke Give You A Tour Of Hyundai’s Sexy Prophecy EV Concept

The Hyundai Prophecy is one of the most impressive concept vehicles we’ve laid eyes on this year and it’s quite a shame people couldn’t see it in the metal at last month’s cancelled Geneva Motor Show.

The Korean carmaker has now dropped new images and a walk-around video detailing the sleek concept EV, with Hyundai Motor Group Chief Design Officer Luc Donckerwolke as our guide.
It is really interesting to hear what the man who designed the Lamborghini Murcielago and Gallardo, among other iconic cars, has to to say about the Hyundai Prophecy’s key styling traits.

Most importantly, we hear from Luc Donckerwolke himself that this design study is not just for show. As its name implies, it previews ideas and features we’ll see on products from the Hyundai brand in the future and that is good to hear. If the carmaker adopts the same approach as with the 45 Concept, the Prophecy could accurately preview a production model.
Built on a dedicated EV platform, the Hyundai Prophecy is probably the best-looking iteration of the brand’s Sensuous Sportiness design identity. Key elements include the fluid four-door coupe shape interrupted by the rear spoiler, suicide doors, propeller-shaped wheels, and pixel lamp lights first seen on the Hyundai 45 Concept.

Interior highlights include the two joysticks replacing the traditional steering wheel, the minimalist dashboard, large screen as wide as the car under the windshield, pixels on the door panels, topographic layering on the floor, and tartan upholstery, among other things.
The Hyundai Prophecy is the second vehicle built on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) after the 45 concept. Since the powertrain is much more compact than internal-combustion engines, it enables a roomier interior. No specs have been released, though.

From the back it looks like a Panamera. Who would of thought 20 years ago that one day Hyundai would be building electric cars?
