I Got Me Another Crowd Sweeper - KCSR

This was someone's racecar before I had it. Bottle mounts still in the trunk, it's got a CAI, catback, suspension goodies, and I'd assume a tune and that's what I've figured out so far. Need to get it on the rollers and see what I've got.

It's a lot of fun as is, but of course the bottle is going back on and some sticky tires will be slapped on too.

Yeah, this thing just fell into my lap. I've been telling myself I was holding out for the new GT500, but the price was right on this car and it was turn key as far as the mods I'd want to do.....minus my nitrous install.

Now I'm going to turn my attention to getting my Lightning back in tip top condition.

I'm going to see if they can get me on the dyno this afternoon.

Will post for sure

I was actually minding my business both times and they decided to instigate. Who am I to not oblige!

The first one was the Audi. It happened yesterday when I was leaving the dealership. The ink wasn't even dry on the paperwork

I pulled off from a stop light and all of a sudden the Audi was in it and coming hard. My car is just super loud and I assumed she thought I tried to take off on her from the light. I laid into it and wrapped out second and stopped her pull at the top of second. She never got around me. It was a old lady that was around my age too. She rolled down the window at the next light, we chatted, and that was that.

Then on I-70 this guy and I assume his son run up alongside of me in his 550i. I hear him bring up the boost and he takes off. I was like game on! I down shifted and caught up and pulled along side of him and we got a couple of pulls in. One mid way through second gear to the top of third, and one third and halfway through fourth. Both very close runs, and as loud as his turbo was I'd say it was modded for sure.

Feels good to have a toy again.

I’m going to pay someone this time. Getting all the bells and whistles (wideband and, window switch, etc.), and am also going to run Nano this time. I’ll buy it next week where I’m getting it dynod.

I looked into getting an NX kit back in april. Thought it might be fun. I need headers and I think some torque tube work before that happens though.

I got a set of Nitto NT-01 already. I need to get the car completely sorted. I track the car not too much drag racing. Not that I'm opposed to a good run once in a while. haha.

Cant say I ever hear or see any thing about the Nano kits being used anymore. Always heard mixed opinions about it years ago anyway. Wouldn't it just be better to have a dual bottle setup?? What do the Nano kits cost, compared to an extra bottle??

The guys at Vamp where I’m taking it use Nano on their 1/8 mile car.

Without typing a book about how NO2 works, Nano is great at keeping both the volume and pressure as consistent as possible, and a much better option than a bottle heater.

A good but slightly disappointing day.

I was hoping to maximize the bang for my buck with this purchase and that there would still be a tune on this car. No such luck.

384rwhp and 357rwtq.

That's fine by me, and it's a good place to start. My guy (Dave at Vamp) went through everything, gave it a solid once over, and I'm happy with the mods and condition. Engine is strong, no signs of clutch slippage, and once we tune it we should see 420rwhp for sure.

He is ordering the nitrous kit, and the two tunes should cost me about $550 on top of said kit. Going to spray it to 550rwhp and call it a day.

Just ran a modded C6Z in the hood all the way down Truman between 435 and downtown. Caught a couple of lights and a coupe of rolls.

I’m not too sure how, but I won 3/4, and the one loss was due to the fact that I suck and missed third. In fairness though, my car squats and goes from a dig due to the suspension goodies and he just kept lighting up the tires.

The roll I won was a quick one from 20-85 (which is the sweet spot for my car) but I was only a fender ahead and if we’d have kept going it would have been all over for me.

Either way, it was fun!!

That’s why we run the races. Two stick cars provide plenty of opportunity if one of the drivers isn’t able to get the most out of his setup.

He asked me if I wanted to take it out on the highway and see what’s up and I just smiled and told him he had me covered on the highway for sure.

He was super cool. Black guy down in the hood in a silver C6Z with black aftermarket wheels. It looked, ran, and sounded great

I finally caught another random run.

It's crazy that these new Coyotes can pimp smack the '04 Cobras so easily.

Did a quick 2nd gear roll and got out of it halfway through third and I was out about a car. Then we did a 50 roll to about 120 for me and I pulled off and kept pulling to about three cars or so between us when we let off.

I didn't ask what his mods were but it at least had a catback/exhaust work.

Hopefully one of the Mild bros will step up soon and I can add a SRT-8 and a C5Z to my kill list

My C5z is all stock, but should be a decent run as long as I have my Nitto's on. My street tires don't hook worth shit.

I'm game for a run or two.

My 300 wouldn't stand a chance in hell. My c5 likely wouldn't either. I'm giving up around 45 hp, and I don't think there's enough weight difference to close that gap.
