To make the boom boom. I have an empty JL 10w7 H.O. box, often referred to as the "Red Eye" box. It is black w/ red insert. It is in good condition. There is a small nick on the bottom of the box in the left corner, but it does not affect the performance at all. I bought the box loaded from JL a few years back and ended up pulling the sub and building my own sealed box for it instead. The box has just been sitting in my house since.
