need help with obd2 d-series ckf - KCSR

Anybody know what the black wire is for? Im swapping an ls into my 98 civic and the ckf plug on the ls engine is a 2 wire with a different shape plug. I was going to just solder this plug onto the b18's ckf, but I don't know what the black wire is for. can I just ground it to the engine? I looked at the pinout and there's nothing there for that wire, so will the ecu even know if its completely disconnected?

Run the engine obd1, as ignore that desire all together.

Obd1 to obd2a jumper harness and an obd1 p75, be done with it.

Ill try soldering the d series connector onto the new sensor first. I'm pretty sure that third wire is just there to stop signal interference, like a/v cables had. If I get a cel, the bypass trick should do fine.
