Anybody know what the black wire is for? Im swapping an ls into my 98 civic and the ckf plug on the ls engine is a 2 wire with a different shape plug. I was going to just solder this plug onto the b18's ckf, but I don't know what the black wire is for. can I just ground it to the engine? I looked at the pinout and there's nothing there for that wire, so will the ecu even know if its completely disconnected?

![]() Ill try soldering the d series connector onto the new sensor first. I'm pretty sure that third wire is just there to stop signal interference, like a/v cables had. If I get a cel, the bypass trick should do fine.
