My dads truck broke down this morning and he believed it to be the fuel pump because the same thing has happened in the recent past. We pulled the bed off and replaced the fuel pump and tried to prime it but we could not hear the pump kick on. We also replaced the fuel pump relay switch and still nothing. Were not sure why the pump isn't kicking on. We have a good pump and relay. Any suggestions??? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check the wiring harness where it runs through the frame. I had one that rubbed off the insulator and was shorting out.
Did you check the fuse? If the fuse is good, and you can't find any bare wire, get a voltmeter and check for voltage starting at the pump and working your way back.

Oh yeah...check the ground connection, a bad ground will cause all sorts of problems. Check it on the tank, the pump if it has a separate ground, check the ground from the battery to the truck, the battery to the engine, and the engine to the truck.
